Bought a San disk usb c memory stick. Downloaded all my mp3 music to it on my MacBook. Went to my wife’s new 2025 x3 and plugged it in. Walla all the songs loaded and I played one perfectly. Then went to the blend on Sirius XM for a few minutes the back to the usb. The usb symbol was at the top of the display so the system recognized it was present. Selected USB and the message no tracks. I could not play or find any songs go figure. Unplugged the plugged back in and the symbol for USB appeared but when I selected it no songs were recognized? Anybody have any suggestions as to what is going on? Could all the music be stored somewhere in the operating system and removed from the memory stick? I have reloaded all the songs again (they were all there so I replaced all so they could not have been moved to a memory storage in the bmw. I can’t even find if there is a music collection function in the vehicle where I could store the music and retrieve it at will ?

Runs without issues on mine. Also use a Sandisk USB-C stick and have hundrets of songs on the stick.
What type of stick do you have and what is it formatted to? exFat or NTFS. Switching between sources from USB-C to Radio to Android Auto audio works fine.

After I reloaded all the music to the SanDisk memory stick it now works. What I also discovered, unlike my 2925 x5, you cannot use voice commands to switch to usb but have to go into the idrive menu and select usb. In my x5 I say switch to usb and I am in. OS 9 is progress???

My BMW Genius told me that the voice command engine behind OS9 will improve with the next 2 updates in March and Juli.
iDrive 7 voice commands where even able to directly play a band by saying for example "hello BMW play Iron Maiden"

I think it's searching for the title in the source that is currently playing.
Never tried changing the source by voice.

So source changes based on my usage, but I’m not sure if there is a way to specify what source to search. |
