So freaking ugly at all aspects. All lines are bizarre especially trunk lid shape. What are they doing with design to such legendary brand 🤦🏼‍♂️

I test drove an X1 M35i and an X3 M50. Both aren't bad spaces to spend time but, overall, I prefer the M50's interior.
  • The X1 is nice but I preferred the seating position in the X3.
  • The X1 does have nicer door pulls and lock/unlock buttons than the X3's.
  • The panoramic gauge/infotainment screen is noticeably smaller in the X1.
  • There is effectively zero storage in the center armrest area on the X1.

I'm not surprised the interior is larger in the larger car, but what about materials used, quality, and fit and finish? i.e. the X1 has Sensatec on the dash and upper door panels.

My G01 x3 is in for service and i have a new X1 as a loaner. The interior of the X1 does indeed seem more upscale than that in the new X3. Both have Veganza seating, but the X1 has nice stiched Veganza on the dash and door tops. The door locks, memory buttons, door latches all feel superior to the G45. not quite as nice as the G01, but still pretty good. Also, the lack of an iDrive controller is really annoying, but overall it is much nicer than the last X1. Just some small improvements in materials

i got a chance to see the new X3 M50 at the dealer yesterday... it was a brooklyn gray fully loaded build at 71k...

to my surprise... the interior was actually a bit better than the photos whereas the exterior was even worse... it's not a bad car, it just doesn't excite me at all... it kind of resembles EV styling and the overall cool factor just didn't seem to be there... if i wanted a sporty suv right. now, this would not be a go for me vs the prior gen

Sat in a Dune Grey M50 on Friday. The seats are great, Merino leather would be my first choice followed by M Veganza.

Steering wheel and Cockpit displays are very well done. The garment dash option is a very hard and coarse surface. Very unpleasant to touch. Looks like a jbl boom box and would be a pain in the ass to clean. Would not recommend this.

What's really bad are the center console and door panel touch buttons (for the seat memory). They whole panel moves when you push them which gives a really cheap appearance.

Outside looks good to me.

Color choices for the G45 are a bit dull. Black, white and Grey looks boring on the G45. The body style requires more intense colors.

The Dune Grey is like dirty chalk and metallic effect is very subtle. Fire red is a tad into the Bordeaux direction and arctic race blue is too bright. So I will go for Tanzanite or select a individual paint job.

Got a chance to spend some time inside a BMW X3 m50 and test drive it for a decent amount of time several times

Positives
1) Driving " The ride , handling , sound from inside is awesome and very quiet when cruising on highways - It really is that good . Sport and sport plus( configured for various parameters) are really fun sound wise( even when amplified ) and shift feel wise. The shifts are not as fast as a Dual clutch but they are fine and have a nice firm feel with a thud when upshifting
2) Seats are very comfy and driving back to back with a pre owned 2022 x3 M, I preferred the overall driving dynamics and newer look/seats/instrumentation of the new x3M50 . It is not that X3 m did not handle well but I liked the overall balance of the X3 M50
3) Instrumentaion looks nice and has a modern feel and steering wheel shape is nice and boost function is fun
4) I got a chance to see the quilted dash/cloth and it did not look good at all - standard dash material is just fine

Now on the negatives
1) I have a full leather Porsche sports car and Merc gle amg coupe and yes inside materials in the new x3 such as door pull were not great but not a deal breaker for me
2) Looks : Looked great in the BMW intro videos but in person not as good looking /imposing as the X5 M sport pkg or X6 M sport pkg and I also like the XM look
I like the X3 M50 so far only in one specific color
white with all the black trim, calm beige interior and 906 M wheels
I am not a blue car person but it may look good with Tanzanite

As a Daily driver it is comfy and at same time fun in sport mode and looks are subjective but for me the X3m50 in dark grey looked great when I saw a delivery being made freshly detailed but in the parking lot they don't look that nice but that is IMO
