Who here thinks the R400 will get the green light for the USA?

Congrats on the GTI. The GTI is a great car. My wife went from a BMW 5 series to a 2012 GTI DSG Autobahn. We have the stage 1 APR installed and it is a blast to drive.

I would love a Golf R but at $40k plus for a normal car(next to the M3), I decided on a 4Runner. I would love the a Golf R, my only hangup is they seem to suffer from the same MB bland design virus. |

A second car that costs that much, I think I would go for utility as well.

Congrats, great set up. Bought a '14 GTI as a DD for my F10 M5 and now use it as DD for my M3. Taking it in for service today and the dealer has a couple of R's...could get interesting.

15 gti here as well. Apr stage 1. We bought one of the first ones in Utah last year. Seriously love the car. its the perfect sleeper. Won't raise any eyebrows, and yet drives better than most cars out there. Price notwithstanding.
Wife won't let me sell it. Or drive it for that matter. |

Here Are a few more pictures. Sorry, I took them with Iphone... What I really like about this car is interior. It is actually on par with my m4 IMO. Of course it does not have HUD or fancy nav., or all those bells and whistle, but the "feel" of interior, build quality... |

I loved my GTI and I still enjoy the CC I'm currently driving. VW makes great cars that are very easy to drive.
I was getting my first oil change last week and can tell you the Golf R is certainly NOT sold out for this year. They had two at my dealer and one was available that day. They had already sold 4, including one that the new owner killed the tranny in after only 37mi (got stuck in mud and killed it trying to see-saw out). There is a wait list for the manual but the DSGs are available at sticker - both of which showed $38k and were well loaded. Nowhere near $45k as quoted earlier.

I bought a 2015 GTI 2 door in metalic blue for my girlfriend several months ago...great car! I did upgrade the headlights to "ED's" LED ones. Great kit I may add if you did not purchase the lighting option. No tune as of yet, kinda waiting to see if JB4 enters the game.

I too picked up at 2015 GTI S manual!
This car is a lot of fun for sure. I already installed the APR CAI, VWR lowering springs (rides like stock, looks MUCH better) and a VWR short shifter. Next will be Volk RE30 Clubsport II wheels in 17x8 with 245/40 Michelin PSS. Stock the car has a hard time hooking up in first gear. I can't imagine what it'd be like with a tune. I've read the PSS do help a lot with traction over the stock all-season Pirelli rubber.

The GTI is a great platform for daily driving and fun. In addition the aftermarket support is second to none. What I especially like is the feel of the steering and interior, feel very solid.

A couple of updated photos since I now have the VWR lowering springs and the APR intake.
The springs are PERFECT! The ride is so close to stock it's really hard to tell the difference. Got rid of the 4x4 look too. The intake is nice. Nothing too special. Maybe can feel a difference as speed increases the ram-air effect. Not too much noise at all. The thing you can't see however is the short shifter (throw, not length of the actual stick). I put the VWR sport shifter, 042 bushings and the APR SS bracket. The gates feel much more positive. The throw is a little more notchy (which I like) and the throws are a bit shorter (it's adjustable and I made it in the middle). Love it!

As for ride and handling: the ride is SO close to stock that you won't even notice. As far as I'm concerned, it's a no brainer. My wife didn't even notice that they were installed or notice a difference in ride, which is a huge + since she love driving it. Handling is a little crisper due to less lean in the turns (lower center of gravity too). I'm more than likely going to do aftermarket alloys, so I don't want to push the stock wheels out with spacers. I'll use them for winter wheels. More than likely getting Volk RE30 in 17x8. They should drop about 10lbs per wheel off the rotational mass.
