I don't think the majority of those animals are actually people's pets that they neglected or abused. I think the bulk of them are strays that became malnourished and ill. If you think the US has a problem you should see what it's like in Bulgaria. Every street is a Sarah McLachlan commercial...

I am not exaggerating, they were about an inch high, by half inch wide. So total tattoo was about 1x3". And no, I am not going to name them, but they are the number 1 known shelter in the nation, and are nationwide. And most people don't know because it is under the fur on the inner thigh.

Creating/campaigning for new dog parks is always an alternative when wanting to help.

I used to volunteer but could not take the sight of sick and malnourished animals being brought in or dumped on the front door step anymore.

There is a new highly review rated dog show coming out. It is called "My dog ate what".
+1 That commercial is sooooo sad, I swear if I was watching lesbian porn and Sarah M was playing I would cry

For example tattooing the animal's serial number on them ( Usually about 6 1" digits) On their inner theigh as opposed to putting it on a tag/collar. A lot of things much worse I won't go in to. I quit when I saw what was really happening, but regadless.
Yikes. That's disturbing. I've heard about the 'no kill' shelters issue before, but never heard about the tattooed serial number.

But the point is HSUS doesn't do much to help animals directly, there are better ways to spend your money...

I don't mind the humane society commercials, but have you guys seen the feed the children one? I mean, how do they get these kids to pout and cry on point. This fat bearded guy is walking and narrating while you have some malnourished kid standing to the side with his hands in his pockets, then it zooms in and he's pouting. I sometimes wonder what they say or tell him to get him to do that if indeed he is a poor, malnourished sickly child.

True. I agree with the person who said to support local dog parks etc...

^ Don't know but I do know I don't care for babies. No offense daddies.

The show is on NatGeo I think. It premieres this evening. A mixed breed eats a tube of super glue and a remote control.

The dog is fine according to the ad spot.

My Westie barely eats the rice/turkey/cheese food I hand make his little ass.
