And no it is not only porn sites. I use to be stupid and look for serial keys and such. That is how you get viruses. You have to look at it this way. A machine is only as good as the person using it.

I really like the tablets especially for a school usage. You can take notes and draw things like graphs on it. Plus if you use One note you can then search through your notebook even in your own handwritting for keywords like "On TEST".

Look weird????... Ohhhhh ok, so a site that "looks weird" will most likely give you a virus... I'll keep an eye out for sites that "look weird".... Actually, I own a mac, so i don't have to worry about not trusting a site... Or looking at sites that... "look weird". That is the point of the internet, explore offers, message boards, news, etc... if you never been to one how do you trust it if you've never been to one?. Cool thing about mac, visit what i want on the internet. With pc.... It's like your in a wall, and you better know where your going because you just might catch a trojen... or virus. Anyway that's another topic. Good luck finding a good computer bro. My pic is Macbook. Peace

You can tell when a site looks like it will cause viruses. Constanst Pop-ups etc. Also although there are not many viruses for Mac(obviously because it has such a small market 5%, so you cant compare it to a higher market product) but you can get spyware and bad stuff on your computer. Just for owning a Mac doesnt mean you can do what you want on the net. As stated. I have accidently gone to sites full of crap and would have easily gotten a virus. But I use firefox it properly alerts me and stops any viruses. So right there proves you dont necessarily need a Mac. I'd say get a Mac if you can. But otherwise dont worry anything else with proper specs will be fine. And Vista is so sexy gotta use it.

I use both safari and firefox. And no i am not mocking you, instead i find a bit of humor in your comment on sites looking funny. Firefox, internet explorer, p2p, emails all put a pc at risk. You could get a letter from your brother, or cousin with "hey what's new" as the subject and something in the email that can cause damage to your computer. You can try to download a document from say.... Limewire, and get something that at the moment you don't know.... And of course you have to make sure your antivirus is up to date.
"just for owning a Mac doesn't mean you can do what you want on the net".............UUuuuummmmm... Yes it does. I go to web sites i know and trust, sites where i search for things, i've let my cousins, nephews, brother, etc... go to sites they want. Who care. I let them know, go where you have to go. Till now i don't have anything on my computer. "Regarding the small market of 5%", i wonder where did you get those numbers? I would be very interested to read where you got those stats. Very interested. And as for Vista. Yeah it sexy. Provided you have the proper dvd player, processor, ram, to make it just run. And if it's a new computer, don't think it stops there. Some computer purchased with vista have had problems running vista. You do understand that its all about business and vista needs to go out on every non mac computer. I must say vista has made great improvements to there computers. And to the OP you can use this to your advantage. It def looks much user friendly. Only thing is, most of vista is Mac with microsoft's logo 5 years ago. I think if you want less "you are about to go to this site"..."are you sure you want to continue on this site"..."by clicking yes you will continue going on this site"... "are you sure!"....<---of course this is in humor, not to be taking seriously, BUT true in the way vista asks you if you really want to go to certain sites. Spend more time using your computer and not making it run. get a mac.

If you get a MAC you won't regret it. You just have to come up with the $$.
That is one of the main reasons why people don't get them. $1000+ starting price for a computer scares people. They would rather get a PC Laptop on sale for $400, and don't realize that they are extremely high maintenance. Buying all the stuff to protect your computer and constantly updating the programs throughout the years will end up costing you more. The geek squad and firedog bend you over and rape you minus the Vaseline when it comes to their pricing; they charge you for every little thing. If they could they would charge you for just making them restart your computer. But hey, I'm not here to argue. To each their own. I got a MAC and trust me, I will never go back (to PC) lol, I wanted to rhyme (as if you couldn't tell) :rocks: I got my MacBook refurbished last year for the same price. Never had a problem with it. Apple has such high standards with their products that their refurbished are basically like new. I run photoshop, mail, safari, ichat, itunes and limewire at the same time and it never froze or ran at a slower speed. I can't wait for leopard to come out. If you could hold off getting a computer till October than do so, that way your Mac will come with the new operating system and you won't have to upgrade. I am going to be the first one at the store to buy leopard.

Good point about mac's standard. On occasions, i run multiple pages in firefox, limewire, itunes listening to radio, ms word, finder (searching for pics), ichat, msn messenger, and my computer does not slow ONE bit! Multi-tasking with ease, speed, security, and reliability.

yeah you could always install both. Mac os and windows xp or vista (your pick)... But remember when you install the windows, on that side you are still required to install the protection for the windows (virus scan, adware, etc...). And NO, if you get a virus on windows, it will NOT effect your mac os.

I won't go into a debate to what Billmister has been saying. It will be pointless.
But I'll just say at the end of the day if you have 1. Good Specs(ram, CPU, etc.) 2. Know how to use your software(You can turn off all the questions Vista ask you) 3. Use software that will help you(Firefox etc.) No matter if you get a Mac or Windows based computer you should be fine for now. So it is your choice just make sure both are to your needs.

I know a good amount about computers, ive built a desktop and got it working and fixed numerous laptops so knowledge isnt an area that i need work on about computers its more of what is going to be good for me this year not for 3 years. Saying that Im fairly confident im going to get the blackbook 2.16ghz intel core 2 duo, superdrive, 160gb hd and 1 gb of ram. If the computer is still sluggish (which im fairly sure it wont be...Im going to take the 1 gb out of my old powerbook (if it fits need to make sure same type) and have 1.512 of ram.

I see a lot of Pro Dell guys in here ... but from my experience (3 dell laptops and 2 dell servers) Dells are GARBAGE. I had NOTHING but problems with every Dell I have owned. I have a HP Laptop that I have had for 3 years and it rocks ... I liked it so much I recommended it 3 friends who now all have them and love them as well. Its the DV series of labtops:
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/sh...=Entertainment They are really cheap and to my surprise have held up extreamly well. I trave l with mine a lot use it for web design, photo processing, school, and work. I recently got a 24" Apple iMAC and love it as well ... I was actually considering buying a new laptop for all my photowork and love how Macs are with anything with graphics. ... Its a tuff choice ... ________ Homemade vaporizers ________ Handjob asian ________ MEXICO HOTELS ________ ExoticaSQUIRT ________ large tits Cam Last edited by Vegas_Sirk; 09-19-2011 at 10:34 AM.. |

Anyway, the only down side to owning a laptop is having to charge it. Your iMac is cool. You are only looking to spend money.

I have 3 dell computers including a desktop and two notebooks. I have never had a problem with any of the computers themselves Currently selling my Inspiron 6400 for $750. I am sick and tired of windows and microsoft in general which is the reason I got my new MacBook though. I still use my desktop to run my network but that's the onlything I use it for.
