Audi looks pretty weak after these ads. But damn that R8 in the end makes you forget the lame ad and admit that yes, Audi does have a Supercar and BMW just doesn't.

Audi's are so rubbish, why must they make such commericals which make them sound so in-secure? Must be because all the people who buy Audis are insecure. Everyone knows a 335i can EZ mode the S5.

THE ONE DOING THE BASHING IS CLEARLY THE ONE THAT HAS SOME SELF CONFIDENCE ISSUES. THESE ADS JUST PISS ME OFF, MAKES ME WANT TO BE ON BMW's MARKETING TEAM.
DO AN AD OF AN M6 and M3 DOING DONUTS AROUND AUDIS |

It's better to see the ads for what they are which is simply to promote a brand/product, in fact this ad is extremely similar to the Audi vs BMW ads on those billboards. Pure entertainment that makes you laugh. |

funny thing is in the 1st commercial, the bmw looks so much better than the audi and also i thought it was funny how they put ferrari into the 2nd commercial, "no one should tread on ferrari"

First one, it's funny because car and driver calls audis better than BMWs... but automobile calls BMWs better than audis.. I don't even know why companies say that some magazine says their cars are better as proof. For all we know the reviewer could be an uber BMW hater, or an Audi fanboy.

who cares....if a company has to stoop so low to do all this bad naming in their advertisements then so be it. we live in a capitalist country meaning COMPETITION. honestly let the best company win. imo and the way i see it the a4 3.2 was supposed to compete with the 335i (technically) which they are now not going to even sell anymore. audi created the s4 and it beat the 335i.....and now bmw releases the 335is........competition

I don't really like Audi's ads because they have such a negative vibe to them. Like a neener neener we're better snootiness to it. Does nothing but give more ammo to Clarkson's comments that cocks drive Audis.
On the other hand, BMW's two new commercials are very "happy" and inspiring. If I was shopping for a car, I would be more drawn to the uplifting commercials over the negative ones: [u2b]<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XTggZ9YJa1s&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XTggZ9YJa1s&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>[/u2b] [u2b]<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gW0g3AG-D7Q&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gW0g3AG-D7Q&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>[/u2b]

We've got it good in Belgium. Bashing other brands on the market you're active on is prohibited by law (after two internet-companies fighted like little baby's using ads).
I must say, it's way better like this. No matter what your personal tastes are, you're not going to get annoyed by ads bashing 'your' brand. Also, many consumers in Belgium now look up comparisons by professionals (certified car-magazines, consumer-magazines, etc.). So it has more than one advantage. Anyway, bashing your opponents is a sign of weakness IMO, but marketeers will never settle with 'just' promoting the product and 'hoping' the consumer chooses his product and not the other. In any case, it's still up to the consumer. They can throw ads at me all they want, in the end, I'm still going to test drive several cars to determine I'm going to buy the right one. |
