"The road holding of this X3 and the overall driving dynamics... this is the closest an X3 has ever felt to a 3 series... I'm pretty impressed with this thing."

Waiting for the new X3MC version to come out, then I will thoroughly check the reviews. From the few clips I have seen, I have been very disappointed with the interior of the X3 M50, coming out of the X3MC. Plastic door handles, no carbon fiber interior option and no more Marina Bay Blue paint option at almost the same price point. Almost done with my second X3MC (current lease ends in May) and crossing fingers for another one.
Yes I am still hoping…

I have not seen an official declaration about that yet. Just rumors…
We will see.

Even if it's not technically official, I'd give a lot of weight to hb's reporting, given his insider connections to BMW. Don't get your hopes up about another X3 M.

I would go with hb’s insight on this. Don’t think X3M with a petrol engine is coming.

Sounds like I will have to go with the X3 M50 for my new daily then, if I hear everyone correctly. After almost 6 years of X3MC, I will miss it, assuming it is the case.
X5M is too big and pricy for me.
Will have to use the CSL more often to get my fix… No complaints there.

BMW won't officially state that until very late. The X3 M is not coming. You can mark this message and check later.

Good problem to have , why not check out a regular X5 with M sport

Enjoy the more luxurious side. Your CSL will deliver on the sporty
Just a thought , if you're not in love with the new X3

I drove it already. It's not an X3 M, but for many reasons, I like that. As much as I LOVE the X3 M, it was a bit too harsh for me for daily driving. Granted, the roads where I live are not great. The engine was addictive too, great sound also, just a very capable SUV and much more fun than X5 M.

Now the X3 M50 doesn't try to replace the X3 M. Instead, it moves up in driving dynamics from the X3 M40i, while also getting a bit softer in the Comfort mode for daily driving. Overall, the suspension is better damped all across.

So it really depends what you're looking for.
