iDrive 9 software update came in today.

Car was on 11/2024.30 and update is 11/2024.67, so only minor update with a filesize of 411MB.

Downloaded to phone, installed on my drive home from work and installation started when I parked the car.

I'll see what they fixed during the next days and come back when there is something to report.

I'm from Germany btw so maybe the versions differ to other countrys.

Any idea when they'll update/allow personal eSim? Without it, does it mean we won't have wifi hotspot (as well as other related features) when the trial period is over?

As far as I know it will be included in the 03/2025 update.
Checked today and Ivory ambient light bug is not fixed. Ivory still resets to blue after a trip.
Also displaying the climate Sync setting is still not saved.

Interesting. You'd think that bug would be a layup to fix.
Since my 11/2024.67 update a few days ago, I’ve gotten a “headlamp vertical aim control malfunction” in check control. I am hoping this is/was a one time abnormality. I’ve physically inspected all 4 ride height sensors and they appear to be normal. The headlights do move vertically without issue.

That’s reassuring, appreciate it!! I guess I’ve gotten lucky over the years with previous ota updates not presenting noticeable issues.

If you’ve not done so, try a HARD RESET. It might get rid of the glitch.
“HARD RESET” :smash:
  • START CAR & LEAVE IN PARK
  • THEN PUSH & HOLDING DOWN THE  CYLINDER VOLUME CONTROL ON CENTER CONSOLE UNTIL THE SCREEN CYCLES OFF & ON 2-3 TIMES. You should see a bunch of moving lines on the screen cycle off & on 2-3 times. This should take about 1 -2 minute.
1. The infotainment rarely powers down correctly and holds your bluetooth calls hostage until the doors are locked. Opening the door is an erradic trigger for shutdown. One never knows if it will work.

2. Audio corruption every 13 seconds on the dot when in WhatsApp or Teams call and Android Auto is running.

3. Sometimes I return and some of the windows are every so slightly lowered; enough to let air through. Mystery. Three times so far and I never moved the windows.

4. Security alarm went off when selecting ignition off and then opening the door. One occurrence so far.

5. Some missing features like finer LED color control or ability to view the front camera.
I'm still on 11/2024.58 in the U.S. What I don't understand is why the car is not able to download the software update directly using WiFi connected to my house router? I'm not following why BMW configured it so that I need to download the update to my phone app and then transfer it to my car. On my other vehicle, I get a notification in the app to initiate the software update, but the car itself downloads it directly.
Just installed 03/2025.38. Haven't drived it with it yet. Let's see what are the changes.
Not yet available to my car in Germany. But usually it will come within a few days. I'll report back if it's available and installed.

I am currently in Germany with the car and got it today. Normally it comes a bit later in Bulgaria otherwise.
Few things I noticed.
The Spotify BMW app works better when the car starts, no need to change to radio and then back to Spotify. Personal eSIM seems available, but haven't tried setting it up yet. Couldn't find the option to make efficient mode as a default start up mode, still not showing in the possible options. More options are available in the myBMW app such as trunk and alarm control. Overall, no new bugs found yet, feels good and stable. Would try the ivory color in the next days to see whether it is fixed.
Downloaded to the App today. Will install tomorrow
Efficiency mode as statup mode is not in the feature list of the App. It's not available for ICE cars but only for BHEV cars
Installed the update today and a lot of Apps where updated afterwards. Make sure you have the automatic app updates in the connected drive store settings turned on.

Also I do I reset after every update once it's done and once all the Apps are updated.

Also it's important for the updates to initialize correctly that you lock the car after the above mentioned procedure and let it go to sleep (wait aprox 20 minutes)

No problems so far. Only thing I needed to do was delete and reassign my radio station shortcuts from the shortcuts page as the radio app was updated.
Still not fixed is the issue of Ivory ambient light color and climate sync button display is not saved in the profile.
US also got the update
I just installed not drive yet
Will update if i notice something new

Which version? I have 11/2024.67 and no updates appear to be available for my car.
Typically the new software versions come the NA about 3 months after the Europe roll out. That would mean we will see the 3/2024. _ _ around June.
After the update my the ambient lights stays on my selected colour (ivory)
