With the date set for the iX3 50 customer cars I was wondering has anyone heard any rumours as to when the M60 version will hit the showrooms?

Very basic question, here:
What's the main difference between: iX3 40, iX3 50, and 60?
I'm guessing it's power, but is range also different between these?
Sorry for the silly question!

I seems that they are going to put a smaller battery in the 40 to reach a price point 80kWH I believe over the 108 in the 50 and 60.
So less power but less weight I guess and obviously likely a lot cheaper as a result or at least you would hope to counter some of the cheaper brands appearing. 60 will likely be the same battery but more power and likely a little less range as a result I expect.
Nothing totally confirmed but joining the dots that's what it looks like.

Since the front motor disconnects on the dual motor versions I think the range difference between the 50 and 60 won’t be that great, maybe no more than 5% despite the extra power.

I'm currently in an i5M60 and lease is up in April, I will see if I can get an extension to this of maybe a year and if this happens then it opens me up to potentially getting the iX3M60 instead of the 50 and the extra goodies that will come with it like adaptive suspension and obviously the extra performance.
I did contact the leasing company a couple of months ago and asked the question but the extra charge per month they were looking was nuts, hopefully this time they more reasonable. LOL

Mogwai888 wroteOn sale date will probably be in the fall 2026. It will take 2-3 months before getting to the dealer lots.

Just saw the update on the future BMW models info page:
https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=901686
Under April 2026 it is stated that the NA5 iX3 M60 xDrive has been delayed to 03/27 with a reason.

I suspect demand for the 50 and now adding a lower 40 to cut price is easily mopping up all capacity. Add the US market and a 2027 for M60 probably makes sense.

all i want is the adaptive dampers. no M60, no adaptive dampers.

G30M wrotePardon my ignorance, but I have researched this and still remain confused: I own a Porsche Macan with both active dampers and air springs. I have no way to distinguish the effect of each. For the iX3 will adaptive dampers smooth out the impact from rough roads or just provide modes for even more sporty handling? Or both? And will the system necessarily be tuned the same for the M50 and M60? I assume air isn't coming for the iX3.all i want is the adaptive dampers. no M60, no adaptive dampers.

how well it works depends on the design and the tuning (same as passive damping!). either way it will need to complement as well as be limited by the springs, which are not active.
