MontyB1 wroteAhh! Ok,...this guy: Horatiu Boeriu! I've watched a lot of BMW Blog's vids as well. Horatiu does a good job too,...especially when they allow him to have a bit of fun. He's always putting BMW engineers in a pickle with some questions presented to them. Props to Horatiu...HB is the excellent BMWBlog. https://www.bmwblog.com

Just got a call from my dealership in Rhode Island. The regional manager just informed them that ix3 launch date had been delayed until Q4 2026. Not this summer. Can anyone else confirm.

Looks like they might be prioritising the EU and other markets, wonder why? I know the political landscape isn’t pushing EVs but surely there is still demand, maybe demand is just less.
Telling at the recent auto show they only had the iX3 for the press days not customer days of the show.

Mayhe bmw ended selling way more in europe than they expected and decided to delay launch overseas?
02-12-2026
Seems that way, I have no idea what the margins are but many tariffs in the US and demand in Europe and thus profits makes financial sense for BMW to focus on closer to home. The nationalistic element of the US strategy might have some impacts this could be one maybe.

Right that’s it I want to know who go an invite, why we weren’t in the list and why do we not have some first hand reviews from those 200 people…. Me jealous, oh no not a bit of it, ok maybe a tiny amount.

ggalanis wroteThe Canadian build page has no pricing and seems like it’s half-baked. Had a click through and it is pretty useless. Also does not mention anything about heated rear seats (which supposedly should be available by the time they launch the vehicle in the fall)FWIW the Canadian site activated a build page for the ix3 today and their faq it mentions deliveries starting fall 2026 now instead of summer which was the original timeframe like it was for the US as far as I know.

I kinda figured I'd have a tough time finding an iX3 this December when my iX lease ends. But now it seems close to impossible if Canada launched their configurator and are claiming fall, and the US doesn't even have a configurator live yet. Oh well. Maybe I'll get one in some years time.

For comparison, this information: currently, it will take until November if I order next week.

Canada quietly started their waiting list at the end of last year and only publicly put a reservation link on their website yesterday. Most Canadians who didn't happen to keep in touch with their sales team wouldn't even have known about it, let alone get on the list.
So you might be lucky that the US hasn't started theirs at all, or has kept it enough of a secret that you could be squeezed in for the timing you'd want.

ggalanis wroteYes I noticed that too. Considering that the Volvo EX60 was revealed at a much later date, will launch sooner in Canada, and already has preliminary pricing information, it's disappointing from BMW Canada.According to the site's FAQ, pricing will be made available in the FALL of 2026 as well.... There is a video already if the iX3 in winter conditions but it's in German
There are auto generated English subs available though
They mention using 13.7 kWH per 100 km at 130kph on a motorway at 9°C, but note it was slightly downhill
That still sounds impressive, almost WLTP range.
